FAQ

Asked and Answered

Do I need a referral to access your services?

You do not need a referral to access the treatment program. If you are working with a multi-disciplinary team such as dieticians, physiatrists and GP's, we collectively get in contact to incorporate the program into your current treatment process.

How long is the program for?

This is personal to each patient. The standard time-frame provided to patients is 3 months of consistent treatment as a minimum. A large majority of eating disorders develop in younger years, therefore the disorder has been developing for years before seeking treatment. This takes time to work through and re-learn healthier behaviours. The goal is for each patient to only require this program once and maintain a level of maintenance check ups following. We want to create lasting change.

What can I do whilst I am on the waitlist for in person treatment?

I provide counselling sessions for waitlisted patients weekly/fortnightly.

What does the 1:1 coaching day include?

This is an entire day dedicated to personalised goals and activities to set up the following week and act on challenges and obstacles patients find difficult to do alone. e.g, meal support, grocery shopping, active challenges such as clothes shopping, mindful exercise, specialist appointments and identity building activities.

We spend the day out and about, preparing for meals, creating future goals and challenges and nurturing the person outside of the disorder.
